WeatherNow is probably the least-impressive weather app you'll find on Roku. The official Roku Channel Store description promises "the latest weather news," but you won't find any news here. The app provides current weather conditions and forecasts for cities of your choosing, but that weather data is very limited. Search for a city (no zip codes) and you'll get the current temperature and sky conditions along with the "feel like" and daily high and low temps. No wind or humidity, and the temps are provided only in Celsius. Forecasts are likewise sparse, with only sky conditions and temperatures provided for 3-hour intervals.

What's more concerning than the lack of data is forecast accuracy. We checked the forecast for Atlanta, Georgia, and while the U.S. National Weather Service was forecasting mostly sunny skies and a high of 72%E2%84%83F for the next afternoon, this WeatherNow Roku app was forecasting light rain and 57%E2%84%83F (converted from Celsius). forecast partly cloudy and 72, while WeatherBug was expecting mostly sunny and 69.

Another drawback to this app is that you can't save any cities as favorites. If you want to change location, you'll need to go back to the city search function and enter a new city name.

If you're looking for weather news, WeatherNation provides a live studio broadcast of news and forecasts. The Weather Network provides detailed current conditions and hourly, 36-hour, and 14-day forecasts, and also lets you save multiple cities. If you're a true weather nerd, Weather4us is a must-have Roku app loaded with maps, weather trends, and lots of other features. And if you're looking for a screensaver to show your current weather conditions and forecast, Weather Screensaver is our top choice - it displays local weather conditions and a 5-day weather forecast for any location you select while your Roku is idle.
