new-movies-tv-the-roku-channel-january-2022 "Weird Al" Yankovic, the popular singer/songwriter who has entertained us since the 1970s with song parodies like "My Bologna" (a parody of "My Sharona"), "Another One Rides the Bus" ("Another Bites the Dust"), and "I Love Rocky Road" ("I Love Rock 'n' Roll"), is the subject of a new Roku Original. Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, a biopic starring Daniel Radcliffe as Yankovic, premieres November 4 on The Roku Channel, where it can be streamed for free.

Weird is billed as "the unexaggerated true story about the greatest musician of our time." The film tells Al's story: "From a conventional upbringing where playing the accordion was a sin, Al rebelled and made his dream of changing the words to world-renowned songs come true. An instant success and sex symbol, Al lives an excessive lifestyle and pursues an infamous romance that nearly destroys him." Alongside Radcliffe, Evan Rachel Wood stars as a sociopathic parody of Madonna, who pursues Yancovic in the film, and Rainn Wilson (best known for his role as Dwight on NBC's sitcom "The Office") plays Dr. Demento, who gave Yankovic his first exposure on his syndicated comedy radio show in the late 1970s.
