Halloween Smash is a game of timing in which you throw your knives at a spinning target (see screenshots below) while attempting not to hit any existing knives on the target. Throw all of your knives (the number of remaining knives are shown in the lower left of the screen) without hitting a knife already in the target to move to the next level. Each level has a different number of pumpkins and existing knives, and a different spin pattern - the target doesn't always spin the same direction or at the same speed. You gain a point for every pumpkin you hit and can uses those points to buy a new knife. Every few levels you will encounter a "boss challenge." Winning the boss challenge will give you a "boss knife".
