Roku to develop original shows with Martha Stewart, Emeril Lagasse, and Christopher Kimball

Roku to develop original shows with Martha Stewart, Emeril Lagasse, and Christopher KimballRoku announced earlier this month that it will be co-producing seven original lifestyle and culinary TV series featuring Martha Stewart, Emeril Lagasse, and Christopher Kimball. The shows are Martha Cooks, Martha Holidays (working title), Martha Gardens, Emeril Cooks, Emeril Tailgates, Milk Street's Cooking School, and Milk Street's My Family Recipe, the last two featuring Christopher Kimball.

Roku is also acquiring 3,000 episodes of past seasons of the following series from these three celebrities:

  • Martha Bakes (Seasons 1-11)
  • Martha Stewart's Cooking School (Seasons 1-5)
  • Martha Stewart Living (Seasons 1-11)
  • Essence of Emeril (Seasons 1-11)
  • Emeril Live (Seasons 1-19)
  • Christopher Kimball's Milk Street Television (Seasons 1-5)

These shows will have their own linear channels on The Roku Channel.

The announcement of these series comes just a year after Roku purchased This Old House Ventures for $97.8 million in March of 2021, bringing the popular long-running PBS shows This Old House and Ask This Old House to The Roku Channel. These deals indicate Roku's desire to attract fans of food, home, and livestyle television.
