RokuGuide Channel Description: Khan Academy is a free online service that offers instructional videos "that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom."1 Videos are available through the Khan Academy website, through YouTube, and through the Nowhere Khan private Roku channel.
Through Roku, you'll find instructional videos for the following subjects:
- Math - 24 subtopics include Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, and math for each of the grades 3 through 8
- Science - 7 subtopics include Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Cosmology and Astronomy
- Economics and finance - Microeconomics, Marcroeconomics, Finance and Capital Markets, and Entrepreneurship
- Arts and humanities - 15 subtopics include History, American Civics, Music, Ancient Art and Civilizations, and Art History Basics
- Computing - Computer Programming, Computer Science, and Hour of Code
Also available are videos in the categories of test prep, partner content, college admissions, talks and interviews, and coach and classroom resources. Note that the videos listed as "new and noteworthy" date to 2012, so there is likely newer content available through other sources.
