This Sudoku app on Roku is a classic version of popular number puzzle game. "The objective," as explained by Wikipedia, "is to fill a 9 × 9 grid with digits so that each column, each row, and each of the nine 3 × 3 subgrids that compose the grid... contain all of the digits from 1 to 9."

To play, use the direction buttons on your Roku remote to select the box you want to fill. Pressing OK will bring up a number pad from which you select the number you want to place. You can also switch between Pen Mode, in which the number is shown the same size as the pre-filled numbers, and Pencil Mode, which uses standard size numbers. You can use Pencil Mode to remind yourself that a number is uncertain, but you can still change a number that was placed in Pen Mode if you change your mind.

The game will highlight numbers that are duplicated within a column, row, or subgrid, but otherwise will give no indication if a number is correct or not.

If you don't want to pay five dollars for a month of ad-free playing, you'll be watching advertisements every few minutes while playing this game. Playing on a Roku device isn't as convenient as using a pencil and paper and you can get books of over 1,000 Sudoko games for less than a month of ad-free use.
