Pipes Puzzle is a Roku version of the classic Pipes logic puzzle in which you assemble pipe sections to form a complete network.
In this version of the game, the start and end points are shown on the screen. Using the directional buttons on your remote, select where you want to place a pipe section, press [OK], then use the down button to scroll through available pipes (which are shown on the right side of the screen). When the pipe you need is shown, press [OK] to leave it in place and then move to the next section. See screenshots below.
Keep adding pipes until you've connected the start and end points, but keep an eye on the Power thermometer at the top of the screen. It shows how long you have left until water starts flowing through your pipe network. You have to stay ahead of the water - if the water hits the end of your network before you completed it, the game is over. If the water makes it to the end point, you move to the next lever.
That sounds simple enough, but this is more than a game of speed. You get 50 points for every section of pipe you lay, but you lose 50 points every time you reject the current pipe section in favor of a different one. Points don't go negative, and points aren't added until water flows through a section, so there is no penalty for swapping pipes if you're at zero points already.
You'll likely get a higher score if you can complete the pipe network from start to finish, using as many pieces as you can, before the water starts flowing. If you finish too early, though, you haven't maximized the number of pipes - and the number of points - that are possible. If the water does start flowing before you finish, look at the upcoming pipe sections to see whether you should skip to something other than the current selection (and lose points) or keep the current selection knowing that a good piece is coming up and can be added on the next turn.
