Quick Look: MYSTERY HOUSE free, as the name would imply, is a free version of the original MYSTERY HOUSE Roku game that costs 99 cents. This game is similar to the original DOS-based game from the 1970s, prompting you to take actions by following written commands. When you start a game you are given a scenario and several options; choose one of the options and, depending on your choice, other options become available. This cycle continues throughout the game with some decisions resulting in reward and others in spoils.
The adventure is based on a early Apple murder/mystery game taking place in an old house that you and 7 guests are exploring and looking for the hidden jewels. One by one guests are being found dead and it is up to you to discover who the murderer is before you become his next victim.
The game is rather slow, but you are able to save the game as you go to prevent you from having to start from the beginning each time. There are instructions provided, as well as option to remove the ads for a 99-cent one-time purchase.
