Mini Golf is a two-dimensional arcade game that gives you a set number of putts to sink your golf ball in the hole. As with real mini golf, you'll have to putt your way through numerous obstacles to reach your goal. In addition to the usual sand traps and water hazards, you'll have to dodge swinging hatchets, spider webs, boxing gloves that will shoot the ball back at you, and more.
To start the game, select from Adventure Mode, which has 100 levels of play, or Endless Mode, which lets you select from Practice, Easy, Medium, and Hard. If you run out of shots before making it to the next level in Adventure Mode, you're given the option to watch an ad for an extra shot. You can also watch ads to play in Turbo Mode (your shot keeps full speed through up to three obstacles) or to enable True Shot (see an extended aim line for more accurate shots). In addition to the optional ads, you'll have to sit through two ads when you launch the game, and a single ad plays at various times between game play. I didn't find the number of ads to be overly annoying, but the fact that the same ad played every single time was. (I suggest that you mute your TV.)
The game doesn't provide any instructions, but playing is not complicated. The [Right] and [Left] directional buttons move the direction in which you will be putting clockwise and counterclockwise. The [Up] and [Down] buttons control the power of your putt, with a dashed line showing the relative strength. Press [OK] to putt.
