Quick Look: The 12-chapter film serial SOS Coast Guard was released in 1937 starring Ralph Byrd, Bela Lugosi and Maxine Doyle. The storyline revolves around an evil arms smuggler whose ship runs aground and is rescued by the Coast Guard. Boroff, played by Lugosi, is recognized and flees, killing a commanders brother in the process. After several failed attempts of securing more of the precious Arnatite to create more "Disintegration Gas", he is finally confronted by Lt. Terry Kent in his secret hideout where the final battle ensues.
