Quick Look: ROW8 is a streaming video on demand (SVOD) service that launched in August 2018 and rents movies by the title, similar to VUDU, rather than charging a monthly fee for unlimited streaming. Clicking on a title will bring up a brief synopsis, movie trailer, and recommendations based on that particular title. Many of the titles found on this channel are recent releases, and there are plenty of older titles available as well.
One nice feature about this channel is that if you don't like the movie within the first 30 minutes, you can switch to another one.
According to the ROW8 Terms of Use, you'll have 48 hours to finish watching a movie once you start streaming. You must also finish within the "expiration window," which is generally 30 days from the time you pay the rental fee, but this may vary by title.
Another ROW8 distinction is limited-time discount offers. According to Variety, "On Tuesdays, Row8 will knock $1 off the price of new releases. It's also offering a $1 discount in an off-peak 15-hour window — from midnight to 3 p.m. local time — on new releases and catalog titles. The catch: For the off-peak 'matinee pricing,' Row8 will give customers only a three-hour period to view the title (i.e., so people don't purchase a rental earlier in the day to watch later in the evening).
