Music Max features dozens of stations from LiveOne, a streaming platform that acquired Slacker Radio in 2017 and PodcastOne in 2020. The livestream stations are found in 21 genres that cover everything from Pop, Hip-Hop, Rock, and Country to Jazz, Oldies, Big Band, and Christian.
A collection of "Movies With Beat" is also available, which includes Purple Rain, the 1984 rock musical drama that was scored by and stars Prince in his acting debut; The Producers, a 1967 satirical black comedy film from Mel Brooks "about a theater producer and his accountant who scheme to get rich by fraudulently overselling interests in a stage musical purposely designed to fail"; and classic musicals like My Fair Lady (1964) and Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory (1971).
Rounding out the Music Max app on Roku are a selection of music documentaries covering artists that include Justin Bieber, Backstreet Boys, One Direction, Christina Aquilera, and others, plus concerts from Chuck Mangione, Eric Sardinas and Big Motor, B.D.S.M., and more.
