Your Independent TV Streamer Guide


Quick Look: LocalBTV provides access to local TV broadcasts on your smartphone or laptop, or by streaming to your TV using the LocalBTV Roku channel (which will appear at MyBTV on your Roku home screen). Currently, LocalBTV is available only in Los Angeles, the San Francisco Bay Area and Phoenix.

The LocalBTV Roku channel has no content until you have activated the channel by entering the code shown on the channel's splash screen at, where you will be prompted to create an account if you don't have one. To proceed, you will need to enter a zip code for one of the areas where LocalBTV is available. For those looking to beat the system - yes, you can enter an LA, San Francisco, or Phoenix zip code to create an account even if you don't live in one of those cities. However, the channel will geoblock you based on your IP address if your Roku isn't physically located in a service area.

For those who do get connected, you will have access to 25 or more channels, including local programming, comedies, family-friendly channels, classic TV and several stations in Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean - all depending on what's available in your area. Sorry, but national TV affiliated are not included in the lineup. You can find channel lists for all three areas on the LocalBTV website.
