Quick Look: Food Network Kitchen is a subscription-based channel from the popular cable network that provides on-demand access to complete seasons of more than five dozen TV shows and digital originals - everything from 30 Minute Meals, in which Rachael Ray creates easy dishes that only take 30 minutes to make, to What Would Katie Eat?, where you can watch Katie Lee Biegel recreate the dishes that define her favorite memories. Included are popular Food Network shows like Tyler's Ultimate, Guy's Big Bite, Giada Entertains, Barefoot Contessa, and Bobby Flay's BBQ Addiction.
In addition to the VOD episodes, Food Network Kitchen offers live cooking classes. At the time of our review, upcoming live classes included Alejandra Ramos teaching how to bake a sweet and fluffy angel food cake that isn't fussy to make and Jet Tila teaching how to make perfectly marinated, tender pork chops that are weet, salty and sticky. Before each lesson, you can view a list of ingredients, tools that will be needed, and instructions for prep that needs to be completed before the class.
Other features of Food Network Kitchen include short how-to videos such as "How to Cut a Pineapple" and "How to Hone and Sharpen Knives", along with individual recipe videos in categories that currently include Spring Weeknight Dinners and Cook Seafood Step-by-Step.
Although a subscription is required for full access, the channel is free to install so that you can browse the entire video library before subscribing. There are also a few unlocked videos you can watch, although the Food Network YouTube channel contains quite an impressive collection of videos, many of which are available on this Roku channel, including the one below.
