Invented by Alex Raymond in 1934, Flash Gordon was considered a culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant character by the Library of Congress. Included on this DVD are the three Flash Gordon serials produced between 1936 and 1940. The first serial, Flash Gordon Space Soldiers, tells the story of Flash Gordon's first visit to the planet Mongo and his encounter with the evil Emperor Ming the Merciless.
