FilmRise Sci-Fi

Quick Look: FilmRise Sci-Fi is primarily a collection of low-budget straight-to-video movies and science-fiction television series. Titles include Surf Nazis Must Die, a 1987 Troma production where the beaches of California have been taken over by vicious neo-Nazi punks who rule the waves with an iron fist in the wake of a killer earthquake; Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, a 2006 movie about a military-themed fast food restaurant that builds its latest chain restaurant on the site of an ancient Native American burial ground, resulting in the haunting spirits taking revenge on the diners and transforming them into chicken zombies; and Class of Nuke 'Em High, a 1986 film in which the students of Tromaville High begin mutating into psycho-punk freaks when the nuclear power plant next door springs a leak.

As you can tell from the titles above, the movies found on this channel are not what you typically consider sci-fi, and you will also find a mix of horror/thriller films as well. The same falls true with the television series, which includes a wide variety of content, some with little or no ties to science fiction. Several popular series that are currently available include 3rd Rock from the Sun, The Greatest American Hero, Lost in Space, and Forensic Files.

Content is categorized according to genre which include Paranormal, Horror, Action and Crime just to name a few. Many of the titles can be found in multiple genres. Each title offers a brief synopsis as well as viewer rating.
