Dominoes Classic

Quick Look: If you have never played the game of Dominoes then give the Dominoes Classic channel a try. This Roku game offers no rules of play, but the game is very simple to follow after a few rounds. You can play against either 1, 2 or 3 computer-generated opponents who take this game seriously.

The object of the game is to match up dominoes of the same numerical value either end to end for single matches or sideways for doubles. The tiles are numbered 1 through 6, plus blank tiles. Each player plays off the previously-played tiles until you or your opponents run out of tiles. If you do not have a matching tile you draw from the pile until you do. The game makes suggestions as far as what tile to play, but you can change that by using the directional arrows and highlight another tile and where to place it. (Note: it can only be placed at the end of a run). You can see how may tiles your opponent(s) have remaining, but not the actual tiles.

The game moves fairly quickly but don't let that intimidate you; take your time, use the tile you feel best about, and have fun. There is definitely a strategy to this game, as there is for any other game, as far as the quantities of each tile. The video below may help you in your quest to win the game.

The game tracks scores, and the first player to 100 points is typically declared the winner.

Developer's Channel Description: Each domino is a rectangular tile with a line dividing its face into two square ends. Each end is marked with a number of spots (also called pips or dots) or is blank. The backs of the tiles in a set are indistinguishable, either blank or having some common design. The gaming pieces make up a domino set, sometimes called a deck or pack.
