Quick Look: Discovery Plus (officially shown as discovery+) is a streaming service loaded with shows from all of the Discovery brands, which include HGTV, Food Network, OWN, TLC, DIY Network, Animal Planet, Discovery Channel, Lifetime, History, Investigation Discovery, Magnolia Network, A&E, Trvl, and Science Channel. The service also includes original content available only on Discovery Plus, like Six Degrees With Mike Rowe, Home Town: Ben’s Workshop, and Amy Schumer Learns To Cook: Uncensored. More than 55,000 TV episodes were available when the service launched, and 24/7 streams are planned to be added by the end of January 2021.
Unlike other channels from these cable networks (such as Discovery GO), Discovery Plus is available by standalone subscription and does not require that you subscribe to a pay TV service for full access. Subscriptions are $4.99/month for ad-supported streaming, with an ad-free option available for $6.99/month. Both include a one-week free trial.
In addition to Roku, Discovery Plus is currently available on Amazon Fire TV, Android TV, Apple TV, Chromecast, Samsung TVs, Android and iOS devices, certain XBox consoles, and the web. More devices are planned to be added, so check get.discoveryplus.com/how-to-watch for updates.
