Quick Look: Christian Movies Direct TV ofers a library of wholesome programming the entire family can enjoy. Despite the name, little of the current content is religious in nature or Christian-themed, but consists of vintage public domain content available on many other Roku channels.
There are 33 "Movies Classics" that are are vintage films from the 1930s through the 1950s. Only one, The Ten Commandments (1923) is a faith-based title (unless you include the 1938 one-minute silent film "The Temptation of St. Anthony").
Likewise, the Classic Cartoons and Classic TV are older public domain fare and include Betty Boop, Bonanza (Seasons 1 & 2), The Lucy Show, Popeye, Superman (the original series), The Beverly Hillbillies, and similar public domain material. We did find two faith-based TV series: The Living Christ Series, a 12-part drama about the life of Jesus Christ; and Crossroads, a 1955 anthology series based on the activities of clergymen from different denomination.
All newer, current-era, material is listed as "coming soon." The Kids category promises five faith-based shows: Little Joseph, Little Moses, Little Noah, Little Ruth and Bound. Premium Movies has 30 coming-soon titles. Only a few of those are religious or faith-based, such as In the House of Islam (2014) and The Search for the Real Mt. Sanai (2003), but many titles are inspirational or motivational.
No information was found regarding whether "premium" titles will require a fee to watch when the become avaiable.
