YouTube Now Available on Roku 3 Players

December 18, 2013 - 18:07 -- RokuGuide

YouTube After three years of waiting, YouTube is finally available as an official Roku channel. Roku 3 users will find their subscriptions, favorites, and playlists available from within the channel, and a "Send to TV" features turns your mobile device into a remote control for the YouTube Roku channel.

Currently available only on Roku 3 devices in the U.S. Canada, U.K. and Ireland, Roku expects the channel to be available on additional models in 2014.

If you have a Roku 3 but can't find the YouTube channel in the Roku Channel Store, you may need to do a force operating system update as I had to do. Simply go to the Settings option in your Roku menu, select "System Updates" and click on the "check now" selection.
