PBS Channel Coming to Roku

PBSPBS is bringing their own channel to Roku. Although a limited selection of PBS content is currently available through Roku Newscaster, a dedicated channel will provide local station programming and national content.

According to Current.org, content will be free, but "users will be required to register... using their email address and to designate their local station. PBS will share the email addresses with stations through its Prosper online-fundraising initiative."

Videos available on Roku will reportedly be selected from those that are already available on PBS Video. The Current.org announcement doesn't list specific shows, but popular programs with full episodes available online include Downton Abbey, Frontline, This Old House, Antiques Roadshow, Austin City Limits, and MotorWeek.

The Roku channel is expected to be available in February or March. For more information, read the full article from Current.org here.
