Your FandangoNOW videos are now on VuduVudu is an on-demand streaming video service that was created in 2004 and bought by Walmart in 2010. Facing stiff competition from other streaming services, in 2020 Walmart sold Vudu to Fandango, a movie-ticketing company owned by NBCUniversal that operated a competing on-demand video streaming service called FandangoNOW. Fandango has now merged the two services, keeping the better-known Vudu name.

If you're a FandangoNOW customer, you haven't lost any purchases or rentals even though the FandangoNOW app is no longer available on Roku. Here is how to move your FandangoNOW videos to Vudu:

  • Visit the "Move your FandangoNOW account to Vudu" page on the Vudu website.
  • Enter the email address associated with your old FandangoNOW account, then click on "Send Verification Email."
  • If you entered a valid email address you will receive an email from Vudu asking you to click on a link in the email to verify that you're the owner of the FandangoNOW account.
  • Once you've verified your account, any videos that you purchased or rented through FandangoNOW will be available through the Vudu app on Roku and other devices.

By merging the two services, Fandango says it will be able to "offer more than 200,000 new release and catalog movies and TV shows to rent or buy, including the largest collection of 4K UHD titles and thousands of titles to watch for free — all with no subscription required." A Fandango press release says that "[b]y bringing its two services together on Vudu, Fandango will be able to rapidly innovate and make bolder, faster enhancements to benefit consumers and partners, especially important during an ever-changing media landscape."

Vudu has also replaced FandangoNOW as the official movie and TV store on Roku devices. If you have the Movie Store and TV Store options enabled on your Roku home screen, you can access Vudu titles through that interface, but you will need to log into your Vudu account to do so. Vudu also has its own standalone app on Roku.

More information on using Vudu on Roku can be found on our Vudu app for Roku page.
