A Very Roku HalloweenIgnoring the pleas of the RokuGuide readers who are already looking for the Roku yule log, Roku has launched a more-timely holiday channel, A Very Roku Halloween. Unlike my local Home Depot, which is awash in Christmas trees and blow-up lawn decorations, this Roku channel delivers content more appropriate to late October.

Roku Holiday SpotlightSeveral people have recently e-mailed RokuGuide.com to ask where they can find the yule log, which graced the Roku during the last holiday season. Personally, I think it's a bit too early to fire up the yule log when the jack o' lanterns are still on the front porch for Halloween.

NHL Gamecenter Hockey fans, rejoice! NHL Gamecenter is returning to Roku for the 2011-2012 hockey season. Opening night, October 6, is less than two weeks away. DisneyDisney launched their own channel on Roku this week, with hundreds of short videos featuring popular Disney characters and musical artists. The channel is arguably self-promotional, with most of the content centering around current Disney productions and releases, but that doesn't diminish the high-quality entertainment value of much of the content.
