Celebrate the start of 2014 with the New Year's Eve #BallDrop in Times Square. You watch the balldrop live, along with six hours of festivities leading up to the big event, on the Roku Livestream channel. The free broadcast will feature musical guests Miley Cyrus, Melissa Etheridge, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Blondie, Rodney Atkins, Icona Pop, Jencarlos Canela and El Dasa and will be hosted by Allison Hagendorf.
Livestream's coverage begins at 5:55 PM EST and the Times Square Ball will be lit and raised at 6:00 PM. Internation Business Times reports that the first musical performance, by Rodney Atkins, is scheduled for 8:15 p.m. EST. Other performances include Melissa Etheridge at 9:14 p.m. EST and Blondie at 9:32 p.m. EST. At 9:52 p.m. EST, NASA will broadcast a Happy New Year message the International Space Station.
Following other music performances and events, Melissa Etheridge will offer the final musical performance at 11:52 p.m. EST, and U.S. Supreme Court Justice and New York native Sonia Sotomayor will lead the New Year’s Eve 2014 countdown from Times Square.
The New Years Eve Balldrop broadcast will be available at no charge on the Livestream Roku channel.
