Quick Look: The Podcast channels gives you access to episodes of more than 50 podcasts using your Roku device. Most of the titles include 10 to 20 of the most-recent episodes, although this varies by podcast.
Podcasts topics are heavy on tech and science, with a lot of content from TWiT, CNET, and NASA; and on news, with a number of independent podcasts in addition to MSNBC and CNN. There are a handful of entertainment podcasts, including Ellen and highlights from Comedy Central. The channel also carries over 90 TED Talks. The channel lacks a search feature so you will have to browse through the main menu if you're looking for a specific podcast series.
Before dropping two bucks a month on this subscription channel, you may want to check out the free private Roku channel iTunes Podcasts, which offers many more titles and episodes for no charge. Most, if not all, of the content on Podcasts can also be found on iTunes Podcasts, by using the search feature available in the latter channel. iTunes Podcasts also lets you filter for audio podcasts only, video podcasts only, and all podcasts.
