Western Shows provides episodes of four Western TV shows from the 1950s and early 60s:
- The Range Rider - A syndicated TV show that was broadcast from 1951 to 1953. "The Range Rider had a reputation for fairness, fighting ability, and accuracy with his guns and was known far and wide, even by the Indians."[1]
- Shotgun Slade - A Western mystery series that aired in syndication from 1959 to 1961. "He wasn't a Marshal, Sheriff, or gunfighter for hire, but Slade was a private detective, hired to track down criminals, return stolen money, or solve mysteries surrounding the death of townspeople."[2]
- Tate - This short-lived series aired on NBC as a summer replacement for The Perry Como Show in 1960 and "the adventures of a one-armed gunfighter (he lost the use of an arm during the Civil War) in the Old West."[3]
- Fury - With an opening that announced "FURY!...The story of a horse...and a boy who loves him," this series aired on NBC from 1955 to 1960 and was retitled Brave Stallion in later syndication reruns. "A typical plot involved a guest star who falls into mischief, was rebellious or disorderly, and got into trouble but is subsequently rescued by Fury. In most episodes, Fury allowed only Joey to ride him, but occasionally others were allowed the honor of mounting Fury if they had done a good deed for the horse."[4]
Only a limited number of episodes are available for the series other than "Tate", of which all 13 episodes are available. There were 116 episodes of "Fury" broadcast, but only 19 are found on this Roku channel. Likewise, the channel has only 12 out of 78 episodes of "Shotgun Slade" and 17 out of 78 episodes of "The Range Rider." One episode available on the Western TV Roku channel can be streamed below. (The episode below is a restored version from Timeless Television and does not come from the developer of this Roku channel; the quality of the video on the Roku channel may vary.)
