Your Independent TV Streamer Guide

Pluto TV - It's Free TV

Quick Look: Pluto TV is a free linear streaming TV service that offers a more traditional TV viewing experience than the Roku itself. You channel surf through the Pluto TV channels and browse through a guide of content.

The Pluto TV web service offers over a hundred video streams (or channels); the bad news is that the Roku app is an abbreviated version of what is currently available via the internet. The channel does take a minute to get "warmed up". The first time you launch the channel, it will show you some tip screens. These won't reappear, but when you reload the channel be patient and let it fully load before you try to access any of the channel functions.

Once it is full loaded, the OK button on your remote brings up the channel guide; from there, the arrow keys allow you to choose the channel. While watching a channel, the * button will bring up information about the current program. Up and down direction buttons will move from the current channel to the next. Sorry, but you cannot pause or rewind. This is old-school live streaming with no DVR-style capabilities.
