ChemWise World

ChemWise World features videos from Chemical & Engineering News, a newsmagazine published by the American Chemical Society, the world's largest scientific society. Most of the content consists of presentations by members of "The Talented 12" for each year back to 2017. Examples include Maxx Arguilla, who creates atom-thin wires and sheets with exciting electronic and optical properties; Evelyn Auyeung, who works on catalysts that make plastics easier to recycle; and Ben Ofori-Okai, who develops innovative instrumentation to study how matter behaves at the center of planets.

There is a limited amount of other content, which includes:

  • Speaking of Chemistry - Fourteen topics that include why the glowing rocks under New Jersey fascinate geochemists, why archeology needs chemists, and rescuing rare earths from coal mine waste.
  • Nobel Prize Chats & Chemistry Hangouts - Six titles that include "Top Chemistry Moments of 2013," and "Who will win the 2016 Nobel Prize in Chemistry"?" (The answer is here.)
  • Features - Five videos; examples include How to Make Quantum Dots and Carbon's Untold Secrets.
