Quick Look: Ambient TV on Roku has an extensive collection of "ambient" videos featuring rain, waterfalls, wind, waves, and fireplace. There are nearly 50 videos available for purchase, with free previews of each. Just a few of the titles are:
- Windy Night of Rain
- Soothing Waterfall sounds
- Firewood Christmas
- Old Fashioned Fireplace
- The Perfect Storm
- Autumn Rain
At the time of our review many of the previews failed to load (the "retrieving" progress bar stayed blank). We did get the preview of "Sleep Sounds in The Amazon Rain Forest" to load, but instead of a preview we were treated to a person telling us about the video and he got cut off in mid-sentence. Other videos did show a clip of the full-length version.
Also, selecting the "Buy Now ($0.99) button returns a confirmation that you want a subscription, so be sure to check your Roku account to confirm that you made a one-time purchase and won't be billed a recurring subscription fee.
