Detroit Symphony Orchestra Live

November 26, 2013 - 15:06 -- RokuGuide

Detroit Symphony OrchestraClassical music fans can spend Sunday afternoon (December 1, 2013) enjoying Detroit Symphony Orchestra concertmaster Yoonshin Song's performance of Mozart's second violin concerto, and Grammy Award-winning soprano Hila Plitmann starring in the world premiere of David Del Tredici's masterpiece "Dum Dee Tweedle."

Dum Dee Tweedle, an opera in 10 scenes and a finale, is based on Chapter Four, "Tweedledum and Tweedledee", of Lewis Carroll's classic book Through the Looking Glass. According to composer notes for this production, "Dum Dee Tweedle is total nonsense. Don’t look for a normal plot or a cast of characters consistently sung. Everything, opera-wise, is askew."

Livestream The performance will be broadcast live from Orchestra Hall in Detroit, Michigan, and will be available at no charge on the Livestream Roku channel. The event begins at 3:00 pm EST, December 1, 2013. The Livestream page for this music event page is new.livestream.com/detroitsymphony/events/2504260
