The Foster Library

Quick Look: The Foster Library is a very odd mix of content in five categories:

  • Audio Books currently has seven public domain titles, including "Alice in Wonderland," "Barks and Purrs," and "New Adventures of Alice," from the LibriVox service. (Visit the LibriVox private Roku channel for over 1,000 audio books.)
  • Graph Patterns shows three needlepoint patterns. (It's not clear how one would transfer the patterns from the TV screen to a needlepoint canvas.)
  • E-books plays videos that show page images from three public domain books: "The Lady's Knitting Book," "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," and "The Troublesome Monkey." (These are videos and each page displays for just a few seconds, so you will need to hit the pause button if you're not a speed reader.)
  • Crochet-A-Longs & Knit-A-Longs provides a list of materials and instructions for a toaster cover and a woman's shawl, but no instructional videos.
  • Catalog of Miss Foster's Books provides information and previews of books in 10 different categories, along with links to buy them online.
