Mezzmo

Quick Look: Mezzmo is a free media server that lets you stream media files (movies, music and photos) from your computer to many other devices, such as web browsers, TVs, Blu-ray players, games consoles, set-top boxes, tablets, smartphones, media players and Google Chromecast. This includes Roku, through the Mezzmo Roku channel.

To get started, you will need to download Mezzmo media server, install it on the computer that hosts your media files, and add your files to the media server. Launch the Mezzmo channel on your Roku and select the option to "search for servers on network." As this implies, your Roku and the computer hosting the Mezzmo media server need to be on the same home network - you cannot stream files from your home computer to a Roku on a different network.

Mezzmo offers many features. Visit www.conceiva.com/products/mezzmo/mezzmo_windows.asp For a full list of features, system requirements, and supported devices and formats.

Roku users looking for a media server to stream personal files should also check out Plex, one of the most-watched channels on Roku.
