HBO Now on Roku

HBO Now, the standalone Internet streaming service that requires no cable TV service, has arrived on Roku. Six months after launching exclusively on Apple devices, Roku users can now binge-watch all five seasons of Game of Thrones, along with every episode of every season of every show available on HBO. Additionally, subscribers can watch box office hits and HBO original movies and documentaries.

You don't need cable or satellite TV service to get HBO Now, but you will need to pay $14.99 per month for access. New subscribers get a free 30-day trial, but you must cancel before the trial period is over to avoid being charged. You can subscribe only through the HBO Now Roku channel or through the HBO Now app on other devices.

One inconvenience for many potential customers is that your Roku account's payment method must be a credit card. If you set up your Roku account with a PayPal account, you'll receive an error when you try to subscribe. To remedy this, you will need to visit roku.com, log into your account, and update your payment method.

For more information, visit our HBO Now channel page or hbonow.com. HBO Now is only accessible in the U.S. and certain U.S. territories.
