UrbanPixAS OF OCTOBER 9, 2014, THE URBANPIX SIGNUP PAGE, AS LISTED IN THE CHANNEL, IS NOT WORKING. Roku users can browse titles and descriptions, but will be unable to play any videos. Urban Pix reports that a new signup page is being developed and will be available soon.

RokuGuide Quick Look: UrbanPix, whose tagline is Black Entertainment Media on Demand, states that it offers the "best streaming independent urban / African American movies, shorts & original series" with "black independent new releases, festival favorites, eclectic urban movies and much more." The UrbanPix Roku channel offers video libraries under the following categories:

Feature Films - 50 new arrivals, plus films in the genres of Drama, Comedy, Family, Hip Hop, Documentaries, Music Biographies, and Live Performance.
Original Series - Currently offers episodes of Heavy Sedation (2006), "A weekly series of urban science fiction short stories, which are played with the same actors, playing different characters in different stories", Beat Makers, a series "that delves into the lives of the individuals that create the hits we all know and love", and Afro City, "about a singer named Jazzman Love and her three best friends."
Short Films - Two short films, each less than a half-hour in length.

All Roku users can browse video titles and descriptions. However, as of October 9, 2014, the registration website listed on the channel is not available.
