Odysee Unofficial brings to Roku videos from Odysee, a YouTube-like video sharing service built by the creators of LBRY (pronounced "library"). LBRY is a a blockchain network billed as "an open, free, and fair network for digital content." But unlike YouTube, "there are no moderators, and no safety filters for younger viewers," according to ZDnet.
Odysee content is mostly free to watch, although creators can set a price (measured in "library credits" or LBCs). Viewers can tip creators in LBCs if they so choose, although this option is not available through the Roku app. The Roku app mostly mimics the Odysse website with videos in these categories: Lifestyle, Wild West, Education, Featured, Music, Artists, Finance 2.0, Gaming, Tech, News & Politics, Pop Culture, and Explore. Missing is the Following category due to the inability to link an Odysee user account with the Roku app. (This function was attempted to be added in the "official" Odysee app, but that feature is currently broken.)
More information on using Odysse can be found on the Odysee FAQ page.
