iDreamCTV is a free ad-supported television (FAST) service with over two dozen live channels. The app is similar to The Roku Channel and Pluto TV, with a traditional programming grid, but you won't find any overlap with other FAST services. The usual "name brand" channels, like ABC News, WeatherNation, and Gordon Ramsey are not to be found, but there is a range of movie, family, and lifestyle channels, including these:
- MovieGiants - Titles at the time of our review included The Father Knows Best Reunion (1976), Elvis Presley in Blue Hawaii (1961), and By Dawn's Early Light (1990)
- iCook4uTV - Series include Cooking Everyday Manna, Chef Roc Culinary Underground, and Cooking Wicked Good Food
- iSports - At the time of our review, programming was mostly local events like Kalamazoo Galaxy and Glass City Wranglers Basketball
- Real Family TV Club - Marathons of classic TV shows like Car 54, The Lucy Show, and McHale's Navy were scheduled at the time of our review.
- KOOLTOONZTV - Woody Woodpecker, Tennesse Tuxedo, Bugs Bunny, and other classic cartoons
- Cowboy TV - Vintage and modern-era Western films like The Deadly Companions (1961) and Rough Riders (1997), plus TV Westerns such as Kit Carson and The Texan.
To see any content you will need to create a free account and then log into the iDreamCTV app. Registration requires you to provide a valid email address and a telephone number, but you can also login as a guest on the iDreamCTV website to see whether you want to create an account on watch on your Roku device.
Although you won't find the vast amount of content that's available on Pluto TV and other FAST services, iDreamCTV does provide the ability to sort the programming grid by channel ID or channel name, or provide a grid view. The app controls may be a bit confusing, however. The * button brings up the app's menu, but only when you're in the programming grid view - otherwise it brings up the Roku device options. The [BACK] button your remote will return you to the programming grid when you're in full-screen mode, but exits you from the app if the programming grid is active.
