My USB

Quick Look: My USB is another app that allows you to put your music, videos, and photos on a USB thumb drive, and then stream them through your Roku player or TV (note that only certain Roku models have a USB port available). All Roku-compatible file types should be supported, although I didn't test every type myself.

This app will scan your thumb drive and gather all files of each media type together under Movies, Photos, and Music. From within those categories you can browse all files of that type or you can browse by the folder that they are in. For each media type you can set repeat options - stop after the current file, repeat the same file, advance to the next file, or advance to a random file - but you must do this from Settings in the main menu.

The My USB app is very basic, and I see no way to justify the $1.99 per month subscription when other cheaper (or even free) apps do the same thing so much better. The free Roku Media Player is a much better option, with thumbnails and dates when browsing photos, support for album art, and a much better user interface when listening to music, allowing you to pause, repeat all, shuffle, and more while displaying the artist, album, and other information about the song being played; My USB only offers pause and stop controls while songs play, and only display the path and partial file name of the file being played.
