Fotum

Quick Look: Fotum is a Roku screensaver that lets you display a slideshow of personal photos while your Roku is idle. To use this screensaver, you will need a Roku with a USB port. Create a directory named fotum on a thumb drive, copy photos into that drive, then insert the thumb drive into your Roku. Open the Fotum screensaver and set it as your default screensaver. You can the default settings if you like - the length of time each slide will display, the transition effect, how many slides to display, background color etc.

It should be that simple, but I did experience a problem when changing some of the default settings. After doing so, the screensaver defaulted to the bouncing Roku logo, and I couldn't preview my photos. After removing and reinstalling Fotum, it worked again. I successfully changed the photo interval and the screensaver worked, but after turning off the option to show the photo data, I was again left with the bouncing Roku logo as my screensaver. Turning that option back on doesn't restore the function - it looks like deleting and reinstalling is the only option.

This screensaver is a nice first-try, but if you don't want to see the dates of every photo displayed you may want to pass on Fotum until the bugs are worked out.
