Your Independent TV Streamer Guide

Couchy Play

Couchy Play Quick Look: The Couchy Play app lets Roku users stream their own videos, music, and photos to their Roku-connected TV. Users upload their files to DropBox, an online service that lets you share files between computers and other Internet-connected devices such as smartphones. After installing the DropBox application on your computer, you drag and drop files into a DropBox folder. Those files are then uploaded to the DropBox servers, and you can access them from other locations.

After creating an account on the Couchy TV Website and linking your Roku to the Couchy Play app, the media files that you've dropped into DropBox can play through your Roku player and streamed to your TV. Free DropBox accounts can store up to 2 GB of files, but you can get more storage for a fee of $9.99 per month for 100 GB or $19.99 per month for 200 GB.

Similar apps that will access your DropBox media include roDropbox and DriveCast.
