The Homestead Channel

Quick Look: If you are thinking of moving off-grid, you may want to watch this first. The Homestead Channel features the story of two families that did just that, moving off the grid in the Ozark Mountains, where their only tie to society is a single land line telephone for emergencies or the Internet.

The channel offers the first 10 episodes from season 1 of The American Homestead, a "reality based" show covering the day-to-day life of living off grid. These videos are all relatively short, lasting 20 minutes or less. In addition to the show there is "bonus" footage that covers every aspect of this lifestyle. Here you get to see what the lifestyle is really all about, videos include harvesting and canning their own food, laundry, processing meat, living off the land and daily maintenance of equipment.
