Quick Look: Pluto TV is a free linear streaming TV service that offers a more-traditional TV viewing experience than the typical on-demand Roku channel, letting you channel surf through more than 200 channels and browse through a grid-style programming guide. The heart of the Pluto TV service on Roku is the nearly 200 (at last count) video streams (aka channels) plus 36 music streams. A channel revamp in February 2019 made it easier to browse the program grid, with shortcuts to the following channel categories:
- Movies - Watch James Bond 24/7 on the 007 channel, or catch movies in genre-specific channels that include Action, Comedy, Romance, Drama, Horror, Black Cinema, Westerns, Cult Films, 80s Rewind and more.
- Entertainment - Here you'll find three MTV channels, ET Live, BET, TVLand Drama (with episodes of Walker Texas Ranger, Flipper, and similar fare), CMT, and numerous reality-show channels. You can even stream Baywatch 24 hours a day if that's your thing.
- News - Pluto currently has a channel focusing exclusively on the 2020 Presidential election, along with channels from NBC News, CBS News, CNN, Bloomberg, Cheddar, NewsMax, Sky and others. WeatherNation is available for weather-watchers.
- Binge Watch - You can watch several TV shows on their own 24/7 channels, including The Addams Family, Unsolved Mysteries, Cold Case Files, Fear Factor, This Old House, Doctor Who, and several others.
- Comedy - This category has a wide variety of content, including Comedy Central, Tosh.0, TVLand Sitcoms, FailArmy, and three pet-specific channels.
- Sports - Whatever your sport, you will likely find it here. Just a few of the many sports channels on Pluto are Fox Sports, NFL Channel, PGA Tour, Major League Soccer, bein Sports Xtra, Stadium, and Red Bull TV.
- Explore - Cars, History, Biography, Military, Conspiracy, Travel, Adventure - these and other informational/documentary channels can be found here.
- Life+Style - You can get your fill of lifestyle shows with channels like Food TV, FrontDoor, MTV Cribs, and Weddings. There are also some religious channels, including TBN, Hillsong Channel.
- Tech+Geek - Geek out with Science, Tech, and similar channels. Gamers may enjoy Minecraft TV, Roblox Gameplay, and Pluto Gamer. Other channels include NASA and Cnet.
- Kids - There is no shortage of children's programming with Nick, Nick Jr., Dora TV, After School Cartoons, and more.
- Latino - In addition to 24/7 James Bond in Spanish, there are several other Spanish-language channels that include Cine Estelar, Peliculas, Cine, and Cine Accion.
- Music - Music video channels include Live Music Replay, featuring replays of live concerts, four MTV channels (Biggest Pop Hits, Yo! MTV Videos, MTV Spankin' New, and MTV Block Party), and VEVO Pop. And you'll find plenty of audio-only music streams, including decade-specific (70s, 80s, 90s, and Y2K) and genre-specific offerings.
