DirectTV Customers Can Access FOX NOW on RokuDirecTV has joined most other national cable and satellite TV providers in allowing their customers to watch FOX NOW on Roku. Cordcutters are out of luck, but those who subscribe to a participating TV provider have access to several of the latest episodes of the following FOX TV series:

  • American Idol
  • Animation Domination High-Def
  • Backstrom
  • Bob's Burgers
  • Bones
  • Brooklyn Nine-Nine
  • Empire
  • Family Guy
  • The Following
  • Glee
  • Gotham
  • Gracepoint
  • Hell's Kitchen
  • Hotel Hell
  • Kitchen Nightmares
  • MasterChef
  • MasterChef Junior
  • The Mindy Project
  • Mulaney
  • New Girl
  • Red Band Society
  • The Simpsons
  • Sleepy Hollow
  • So You Think You Can Dance
  • Specials on FOX
  • Wigs

Most shows have at least the last four episodes available, along with several clips. The Simpsons currently features all of the current season's episodes.

Sorry, but you're out of luck if you don't subscribe to a participating cable or satellite service - you cannot subscribe directly to this channel. That raises the inevitable question: If you already get FOX TV through cable, why do you need the channel on Roku? FOX NOW on Roku gives you on-demand access to several recent episodes, which is a benefit to those who don't have a DVR or those who want to watch one or more FOX shows but didn't set their DVR to record them. Access FOX shows through Roku also allows users to watch on TVs that aren't connected to a cable or satellite box. You can take your Roku with you on vacation and you can stay up to date on all your favorite shows. Or save a few dollars a month by ditching the cable box on the bedroom TV, and replace it with a Roku player.

In addition to DirecTV, the following are among the providers offering FOX NOW on Roku to their subscribers:

  • ATT U-verse
  • Bright House Networks
  • Charter
  • Comcast Xfinity
  • Cox
  • DISH Network
  • Mediacom
  • Optimum
  • Time Warner Cable
  • Verizon FiOS

A complete list can be found here, but you will need to open the FOX NOW channel on your Roku and enter the activation code to view the list.
